Documents You Need to Onboard as a SimpliRide Driver

At SimpliRide, we make it easy for you to join our platform and start earning quickly. To keep our rides safe, secure, and compliant with the law, every driver must upload a few important documents during the onboarding process.

Don’t worry, it’s simple. Here’s everything you’ll need.

Onboarding Checklist: Get Started as a SimpliRide Driver

  1. Vehicle Details

First, we’ll ask for basic information about your car. This helps us match you with the right trips and gives riders confidence in your vehicle. You’ll need to provide:

  • Make (e.g., Toyota, Honda)
  • Model (e.g., Corolla, Civic)
  • Year
  • Color
  • Transmission (manual or automatic)
  • Fuel Type (petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric)
  • Car Seats (number of passengers)
  • Mileage
  • License Plate Number
  • Amenities (e.g., air conditioning, phone charger)
  1. License Plate Image

We’ll ask you to upload a clear picture of your license plate. You can take a photo directly from your phone or choose from your photo library. This ensures your car is properly registered and easy to identify.

  1. Vehicle Images

For transparency and trust, we require clear photos of your car from different angles. These images help confirm that your car meets SimpliRide standards.

  • Main (full car view)
  • Right side
  • Left side
  • Back
  • Front
  1. Vehicle Insurance

You must upload a valid vehicle insurance document. Make sure the following details are visible:

  • Driver’s Name
  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Insurance Company Name
  • Expiration Date
  • Accepted formats: PNG, JPEG, or PDF. This shows your car is insured and ready for safe operation.
  1. Roadworthiness Certificate

Upload your roadworthiness certificate to prove your vehicle is safe for the road. This protects both you and your passengers.

  • Ensure the document is clear and easy to read.
  • Accepted formats: PNG, JPEG, or PDF.
  1. Proof of Ownership

We’ll need to see your proof of ownership document. This confirms that the vehicle legally belongs to you or that you have the right to use it. Again, make sure the document is clear and visible.

  1. Vehicle License

Upload your valid vehicle license. This is required by law and helps us verify your vehicle is properly registered. Accepted formats: PNG, JPEG, or PDF.

Once you’ve uploaded all your details and documents, you’ll see a review screen. Double-check everything, then submit. Message displayed: “Your documents are under review.” Our team will verify them and let you know once you’re approved to drive.

PS: Normally, it takes 12 – 24 hours for approval to be done but until all documents are approved the driver can’t go online to receive a trip request. While they can’t go online to receive trips they actually have access to the app
